Map

This map shows the locations of the memorial monuments throughout the region. Each monument commemorates a former mountain community and helps preserve the history of the families who lived there before the establishment of Shenandoah National Park. Together, these sites create a network of remembrance, connecting visitors and descendants to the landscapes, homes, churches, schools, and communities that once existed in the mountains.
